Our objective is to advance digital literacy by building fully functional computer centers, providing access to digital education, enhancing ICT teacher competency, and promoting environmental sustainability through renewable, solar-powered systems.
Why it matters
Digital literacy in rural communities is non-negotiable. These communities have long contributed to Ghana’s economy, human capital, and development — and we envision a future where every one of them has the digital tools, knowledge, and skills to thrive in a technology-driven world.
Yet the technology divide between less-endowed rural schools and the rest of the country remains wide, and youth unemployment is high. Technology skills for K–8 students — and economic security for youth — are non-negotiable for a flourishing rural society.
Digital freedom
To ensure digital equity, NKAE advocates access to a full range of digital-literacy programs in rural communities — supplying robotics equipment, building energy-efficient labs powered by solar panels, and providing computers and wireless internet connectivity for all students, regardless of where they live.
By opening this access, we empower underserved communities and create opportunities for learning, economic growth, and social mobility.

Ghana became the first West African nation connected to the internet — with cyber cafes reaching some of the smallest villages.
